I have never joined a readathon before, although I see them happening and often think I should join. But I decided to join the Random House of Canada’s Olympic Readathon running Jul 27-Aug 12. It’s long enough that I should hopefully get lots of books read. Lots of others are joining in the fun, so watch for all the updates on Twitter at #OlympicReadathon.
I set a goal of 1200 pages. But I’m not picking books ahead of time because I never do. I do have one July must-read left (Memoirs of a Geisha) and one book tour book to read in that time frame (The Fire of Dawn). Anything else I get to will be free choice.
Are you participating in the readathon?
My Reading Updates
finished The Coffee Shop by Lauren Hunter – 131 pages
Timeless Desire by Gwyn Cready – 276 pages
Material Witness by LA Mondello – 204 pages
total = 611 pages = 51% done

Good luck! I love the idea, although I'm dead set on watching the Olympics 24/7 so probably best I don't try to do too many things at once
I'll be reading alongside you! Enjoy Memoirs of a Geisha. I remember loving that one!
So glad you’re joining! Good luck!
