The 2013 Ebook Challenge. Encouraging readers to expand past just physical books to embrace ebooks in all forms, whether on Kindle, Kobo, computer, or any other reader.
Challenge Guidelines:
- This challenge will run from Jan 1, 2013 – Dec 31, 2013.
- Anyone can join, you don’t need to be a blogger. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to sign-up in the comments. You can post reviews to any book site (i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Goodreads, etc).
- Any genre or length of book counts, as long as it is in ebook format.
- You can plan your books in advance or as you read them.
- When you sign up in the linky, put the direct link to your post about joining the E-Book Reading Challenge.
- You can move up levels, but no moving down.
- Sign-ups will be open until Dec 15, 2013, so feel free to join at any time throughout the year.
Levels:
- Floppy disk – 5 ebooks
- CD – 10 ebooks
- DVD – 25 ebooks
- Memory stick – 50 ebooks
- Hard drive – 75 ebooks
- Server – 100 ebooks
- Human brain – 150 ebooks
At the beginning of each month there will be a roundup post for you to add your reviews for that month. The linky will remain open for the remainder of the year, so if you forget, feel free go back and add them when you remember.
There will be a giveaway at the end of the year for eveyone who achieves their goal level (or higher). If you are an author or publisher and want to contribute to the prize, please contact me.

I’m going to give it a try again next year. This past year, I just failed miserably at keeping track. I’m pretty sure I made my goal level (though I’d have to go back and check) but without tracking, it’s hard to be sure. 2013, though…. 2013 I will be much better!
I’m going to shoot for CD level.
Yay! This year I was trying to be a super, super stickler for a while and only counting books that had been released in ebook format only then I realized I’d never get to my goal that way. I read mostly on my Kindle so it didn’t make sense. Once I went back and marked all of the books I had read that were ebooks, no conditions, I easily met my goal. Keeping track of it with a tag made it soooo easy.
Thanks for hosting. Sarah! I’m going for Server this year.
I like the idea of tagging the reivew posts with challenge keywords.
I got an e-reader half way through last year so I easily completed my goal this year. I’m going debating between DVD/Memory Stick this next year now that my aversion to ebooks is over!
I really enjoyed participating last year and even surpassed my goal! So this year I am going for the DVD option! Thanks for hosting!
Slowly getting more organized. I think I will stick with the CD, one a month is about right for me.
I am using a GoodReads Shelf for my 2013 e-books:

Thanks for hosting this challenge again, Sarah!

My blog is in limbo, so I’ve signed up via Pinterest for now. My link goes to the direct pin. I’m in for CD level, but it’ll probably go up throughout the year, and I’ll adjust the information accordingly.
I did really well with this challenge last year but kept forgetting to link up my reviews at the end of each month. I need to work on that!
[...] The E-book Challenge is completely new to me. I got a Nook for my birthday last year and have been reading on it but honestly I am a Luddite and still prefer my bindings and pages. This year though I have a number of books sitting there waiting on me to read them. I hope to get through The Parasol Protectorate and The Iron Fey series as well. That only should get me to my goal of Floppy disk – 5 e-books (2013 EBook Challenge). [...]
Once again, I enter in an attempt to clear some of my ever-expanding electronic bookshelf. I hope I remember to update monthly, but I do have a GoodReads account to help in that regard as well. Good luck in your reading adventures, all.
This is the only challenge I actually finished last year! Forgot to link my reviews, but I’ll try to remember this year. Here’s to a great 2013!

Since I’ve read 16 ebooks so far and am currently reading two more, I better commit to Memory Stick I think. I haven’t blogged about all the books I’ve read so far, but have written brief Goodreads reviews for each of them.
I am writing reviews on the books I read. My question is, where do I add these books for the challenge?
There are monthly review round-up links in the menu under Challenges.
If y’all are looking for a free one to lump onto your early list, one of my new titles is currently FREE at amazon. Not sure for how much longer (thinking this might be the last day!) so you best step on it!
